In Panama City, we're still serving meals daily to needy children as the uncertainty of this crisis settles in on a community that is still recovering from a hurricane that hit a year and a half ago. I recently saw a report of just school teacher and employees who still needed help with repairs on their homes. It broke my heart. And now, more uncertainty.
+ + 2,000 meals a day...
Meanwhile, our Virginia team is already fully engaged in our coronavirus crisis response. Currently, we are preparing about 2,000 meals daily. While we have always served hot meals, to meet the unique need in the midst of this crisis, we are preparing and then freezing meals for the local foodbank to deliver to needy families with children and the elderly -- so many of whom are self-quarantining. We simply must make sure the most vulnerable in our society are not overlooked at this time.
That means we are now serving thousands of meals every day -- and my phone keeps ringing!
I need to keep up with this unexpected demand while at the same time preparing to meet other critical needs across the country as they arise. But to do so, I need your help.
Will you partner with Mercy Chefs so we can provide relief to elderly shut ins, and strugglings kids and families during this crisis? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift to help Mercy Chefs serve thousands of meals this week while we continue other vital efforts:
+ + Every meal is prayed over!
I want you to know that every single meal Mercy Chefs prepares is prayed over. We ask God to bring peace in the midst of this storm. And we pray that the love and concern shown by a wonderful, chef-prepared meal will bring hope and encouragement.
Thank you so much for your prayers for our team, for those we are serving, and for our nation as a whole. This coronavirus crisis is unlike anything I've witnessed. The level of fear is unprecedented. But I'm also seeing a deep concern among friends and even strangers. Perhaps that's because we all know we are in this together.
Thanks for your help right now, and God bless our nation!

We're preparing 2,000 meals daily now in Virginia alone, and I'm bracing for those numbers to rise as this crisis worsens. Please go here to help:
