Exhausted. Numb. Lost. Broken.

Monday Morning, from Lake Charles.

Exhausted. Numb. Lost. Broken.

This is how the residents of Lake Charles, Louisiana, describe themselves as they wait in line for a hot meal from Mercy Chefs. They are an incredibly strong community, but back-to-back hurricanes are proving to be just too much for anyone to handle.

In car after car, our team has witnessed weary people breaking down in tears as they thank us for coming back to help them. For many, they are facing the reality that they must start over for the second time in a little over 40 days. Go here to see a brief video of the long lines:

A hot meal served in love helps to give them hope. That's why our Mercy Chefs team is back to work today. We'll be serving meals non-stop from noon to about 6PM. In times like these, lunch seems to turn into dinner -- especially when we're seeing long lines of folks waiting for food.

Can you help? Go here to help sponsor 10, 20, 50, or even 100 hot meals for Hurricane Delta disaster victims:

The emotions here are very raw. As I stood in the distribution line
and looked into the eyes of those who are searching for the strength to start over again, my heart broke. This is a painful time for the folks in Lake Charles. Thank you so much for making it possible for Mercy Chefs to provide a lifeline of help, hope, and healing to so many.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc
