FL Hurricane Puzzle

It's been puzzling to say the least...

I can say that I have not seen anything like this in 12 years of serving with Mercy Chefs. But what's puzzling is, the national media stopped covering this disaster days ago. Yet the people here are still struggling greatly and the human suffering is heartbreaking.

From Friday through Sunday, Mercy Chefs served about 18,000 meals as demand didn't let up at all. Our meals went out across the region, including to one apartment community that was devastated by the storm. Roofs ripped off. Windows blown out. It was so bad that the city condemned the buildings, but the residents keep coming back because they simply have no place else to go.

The meals you are helping to provide are literally a lifeline of hope for so many families. We fed many kids like these who were sitting outside their damaged or destroyed homes or apartments.

Quite frankly, some of the relief organizations have already left. I understand why. It's been a long deployment and a serious drain on resources.

I want to continue meeting the still-urgent need here. I want to stay and serve as long as we are able, and as long as there is a need.

But to do so, I need help from friends like you.

Truth is, we are FAR SHORT of the funding we needed just to cover this past weekend. I need help catching up TODAY so we can keep meeting this need.

Can you help?

If you believe in our work and want to help Mercy Chefs meet the continuing need here in Florida, click here to make your tax-deductible gift.

Again, I want to keep serving and keep meeting the need here -- as long as resources allow. We are trusting that the Lord will inspire many friends to stand with us.

In advance, thanks for your help, and God bless.
