I want you to see what you're sponsoring...

Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with Mercy Chefs as we have been serving hot meals to tornado victims in Kentucky almost non-stop for more than six weeks through many challenging conditions.

I want you to see what you've been sponsoring...

+ + Our mission is different...

Mercy Chefs has a unique mission -- to bring chef-prepared, hot meals to those who have been hit by disaster and extreme difficulty. After Katrina devastated my hometown of New Orleans, I took part in volunteer efforts to feed the hurricane victims. As a chef, my heart broke because I wanted those suffering to receive nutritious, hot meals. But the meals I saw were not made with care or love. So I launched Mercy Chefs around this idea -- to feed people hit by disaster with chef-quality, hot meals -- meals I would serve my family.

This is what we've been doing for nearly 16 years now -- including during our deployment to Western Kentucky in the aftermath of that massive tornado strike. Since just hours after the devastation hit, we've been serving hot meals designed and prepared by our incredible chefs.

Here's a sampling of the meals and ingredients your generosity is making possible -- meals that are going to tornado victims who are still just beginning to pick up the pieces and often are brought to tears when we hand them a chef-prepared meal...

Strawberry cakes, heirloom tomato salad, and pepperanda:

And here's another meal: pork-fried rice with pineapple and fresh snap peas. Black Sesame Seed Sticky Roll and fresh salad (we ran out of room to show the dessert):

It's difficult to express the impact meals like these have on folks who have just been hit by disaster or are facing extreme economic hardship. Folks on the receiving end almost can't believe someone cares enough to take such care in providing them a hot meal.

And every meal starts with friends like you. We depend on the generosity of caring partners like you to help sponsor every meal.

As you know, we just launched our Mercy Chefs Beacon of Hope Kitchen to serve the long-term needs of disaster victims across Western Kentucky. Every meal we will serve today and this week starts with a friend like you believing in this mission and making a gift so that 10, 20, 50 or 100 folks in need can be served.

If you want to help us provide chef-quality meals to disaster victims and hurting folks today and this week, go here to make your tax-deductible gift. And thanks for your ongoing prayers and financial partnership,

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
