Images of Hurricane Disaster

Yesterday, we delivered meals to the hard-hit town of Toa Baja, where families had upwards of three feet of water inside their homes. There is still no power or drinking water. It has been extremely hot and of course, there is no air conditioning.

To make matters worse, the floodwaters rushed through a cattle farm before overwhelming their community. The odor at times can be almost unbearable.

+ + I want to do more...

Walking down these still-flooded streets and seeing the faces of the need, I want to do more.

But to do so, I need your help. The vast majority of the island is still without power. There are many villages and towns that have no power, no drinking water, and still need to be reached.

Can I count on your help today as we serve the people of Puerto Rico who have been devastated by yet another hurricane?

Go here to help sponsor 10, 20, 50 or even 100 or more meals for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico:

+ + Your gift doubled by a special Matching Challenge

As I noted to you yesterday, we received a special $40,000 Matching Challenge from a friend of Mercy Chefs that will effectively double the impact of your gift until we meet the challenge. That means your gift of $50 provides about 28 meals; $105 will feed 60 people. If you can donate $175, we'll feed 100 people and $1,000 will now feed about 570 people.

Every meal makes a difference, especially in the midst of such difficult circumstances. Everyone we meet is so grateful for something good to eat. Despite the difficulties, we see smiles on faces as we hand them meals.

Thank you so much for standing with Mercy Chefs as we stand with the people of Puerto Rico.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S.  It would be a great blessing if we could fully match this $40,000 challenge in the next 48 hours. Go here to help provide meals to hurricane victims, with your gift doubled by this challenge.
