Puerto Rico Breakthough... But We Need Your Help!

Approximately 20 percent of residents in Puerto Rico STILL don't have electricity. An estimated 10 percent of those people probably won't get power back — EVER. Even those areas with electricity can experience routine outages up to three times a week.

Month after month after month of darkness has raised anxiety and stress levels on the island. For many people, the ongoing darkness has led to fear — fear that could be eased, if they simply had the ability to turn on a light! But we have a plan to help!

This month, we've been given the incredible opportunity to sponsor solar-panel installations for dozens of families on the devastated island. Our goal is to supply a source of reliable electricity for widows, single mothers, the elderly and chronically ill. Click here to help now!

A company in Richmond, Virginia, has donated 200 solar panels for hurricane victims in rural areas who urgently need electricity. As part of Mercy Chefs' ongoing "Operation Crisis Recovery" efforts, we're shipping those panels to Puerto Rico and providing other equipment needed to "power" 40 homes on the island.

+ + Help Mercy Chefs Provide A Long-Term Solution For Families In Puerto Rico!

Five solar panels will allow a family to run a refrigerator, led lights, a fan and a small in-home medical unit, like a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. (We recently heard a report about a man dying in his sleep because the generator powering his CPAP ran out of gas.) The amount of electricity provided to each home will be equivalent to what's found in most RVs and campers.

So this summer, Mercy Chefs plans to complete solar-panel installations on 40 homes at a cost of approximately $2,000 per family. That means, we need to raise about $80,000 in the next few months to provide a long-term energy solution for Hurricane Maria victims. Will you help, test?

We've donated dozens of generators in Puerto Rico since the deadly Category 5 storm made landfall on September 20, 2017. But generators constantly need fuel to run and are only a short-term solution to the island's energy crisis. Solar power is clean, reliable and will provide a constant source of power both day and night.

Your financial and prayer support will empower us to accomplish our goal of providing 40 homes with solar power this summer. Please stand with us today by making a tax-deductible gift to our ongoing outreach efforts. Go here.

There's still so much more to do in Puerto Rico, and Mercy Chefs has a clear mandate to continue helping the best we can. I refuse to abandon Hurricane Maria victims still suffering in the aftermath of the deadly and devastating Category 5 storm. So thank you, in advance, for your faithful prayers and generous support for "Operation Crisis Recovery."
