Team back in Honduras

We just deployed another chef from our team to Honduras to take part in Mercy Chefs' continuing meal distributions and determine how we can expand our work with local churches in this hard-hit country.

As I'm sure you recall, two massive hurricanes and ongoing rains late last fall caused FOUR MASSIVE FLOODS that left countless thousands homeless and searching for their next meal. Mercy Chefs and our partners have been working to provide drinking water, meals, and other essentials ever since the first hurricane hit.

I wish I could say the situation in Honduras has dramatically improved, but that just is not the case. The people are suffering greatly. Many are still homeless. And our local church partners simply need more help.

This weekend alone, our teams will provide 3,500 hot meals and 500 Survival Meal Packs. Each of the survival meal packs helps feed a family of four for five days. That means this month alone, Mercy Chefs will help provide more than 30,000 meals in Honduras.

But we must do more. Storm refugees are sleeping on the ground in makeshift tent cities. They need mattresses. They need basic living essentials. And the demand for food seems to have no end.

Once again, I'm turning to our Mercy Chefs family. You have made it possible for this ministry to provide a lifeline of hope for thousands in Honduras. I need to expand that lifeline right now. If possible, I want to double our resource commitment so we can increase our efforts to meet the need.

Can you help? Please prayerfully consider how you can help Mercy Chefs right now as we continue to meet this incredible need and look for ways to expand our reach to these hurting people. Then go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

Over the next week, we are working to determine how we can equip kitchens to operate with the local churches so that even more people can be reached and helped. The communities we are serving are going to need long-term support and the churches there are relying on our expertise.

I will be sharing more with you shortly. Thanks so much for your prayers and your ongoing support.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. All these photos were taken YESTERDAY as our team worked to provide meals to lines of folks in need. We'll serve 3,500 meals this weekend. Please help. Go here.
